I Thought this thread was "Non-Dance Music"!!?...
I'd DEFINITELY Dance to that!
Doesn't Sound like just an e2 and it's called volca tribe, so what else are you using in this mix?
Whatever, I like it!
Yeah, I'm sorry, I didn't know where to post it actually and it seems there's lots of good spirits and activity going on here, so I figured I'd put it here. Didn't mean to break the theme.

All the same, many thanks for your kind words :) and it's all Electribe actually, but what I did was I sampled most of the drums from the Tribe and processed them in Caustic (if you can call it that - I applied some FX and some trimming), then I uploaded those samples into the Volca Sample and synced that with the Tribe.

So basically, there's two magic tricks going on here, despite all sounds being from or originating from the Electribe:
- Drums are played and sequenced from the Volca Sample, but originate from the Tribe.
- This means freeing up polyphony and stuff from the Tribe, letting the amps, fx and all roam free. So the synth sounds are allowed to be slightly richer and smoother, not being cut off by priority in polyphony.

And it all runs on batteries.

Gotta love Korg for that.

Sounds great. Really atmospheric, especially the melody works really well. Digging this.

The Orb

Post by Pitchblender »

Hello all - just in case you missed my video doing an Orb cover; Outlands from their first (1991) album. In order to get used to the E2 I decided to try and reproduce some music I already love, and this manifested. Used a KO-2 for bleepy stuff and ES-1 for original sample triggering (ESX2 to come?!) and got the start wrong  but it's all raw sound (no post-processing) for folk to assess in the buff.

I'm liking the thing but after using the Roland MC-505 for a few months it's a pity the E2 has so many more restrictions to it... it feels like Korg are hobbling the thing.

Anyways, enjoy a blast from the past...

That was a most enjoyable blast from the past. Top samples!,
If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.

Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

I got my Electribe just over a week ago, I had much more on the backing but suffered the 'voice stealing' thing I've been reading much about on here. Anyway I've stripped it back, now two bass lines, gone for an actual Bass guitar sound from the EMX2 - angel pad and a few drums, aided and abetted by a microbrute and microkorgs, Kaoss pads and Volcas
