FIVE MORE DAYS!

Either these units start shipping or Korg FINALLY gives us and when I mean us I mean the re-sellers a real date.

Keep those fingers crossed

Oh wait there is this thing about a "BIG FIRMWARE RELEASE" at the same time the ES2 is released. I will admit I have become cynical about this rumor because there has been no real source on this.

Alright fingers and toes...keep em crossed! 8)

I'm going to cast a little doubt on release being this week. At Amazon.jp korg almost always has the gear that's coming shortly on their boards and you can order early. So far the sampler is not listed.

Didn't Korg already state that May would be the earliest month to expect the release?

NOPE!

They keep Sweetwater updated and they are still telling Sweetwater week of March 18.

Sweetwater was the only re-seller I have found to be actually correct on the date of the E2 release here in the US.

Now regarding Europe, this could be a different story.

Well sweetwater told me one of 2 things are going to happen around the 18th. Either something is shipping or we get a brand new date....hopefully with a good explanation as to why there was a delay.

So really the countdown is about getting a solid, more correct date of when the ES2 is coming out.

What would be really awesome is if Korg delays the ES2 they at the very least release this "rumored" Firm Ware update...as a consolation for our patience.

Korg, don't fail us now!

Talked to a Guitar Center rep today and he said that they are scheduled to receive their first shipment of the samplers this week and a second shipment next week. It sounds like they are on the same schedule as Sweetwater and unless Korg is lying to them about this week's shipment, we should be seeing some movement soon.

I just called my local GC here in Denver. They said the new sampler will be in their warehouse in Kansas City on March 23, at which point I would be able to order it and receive it within 3-5 days. They should be stocked in stores "soon after that", though he couldn't tell me an exact date.

So I wonder if it's safe to assume that it will be shipping with the "hybrid synth engine" since that's what's still being advertised?

They don't even have the e2 in my local guitar center yet. I wouldn't count on it going to stores anytime soon. I just really hope that those shipments actually go out. It seems like a long shot but I am definitely hopeful.

Indeed, guitar center along with many other companies were doing the same thing with the initial release dates for the electribe2...

The only thing that keeps me hopeful is the combination of the more accurate sweetwater reps and the fact that the GC rep could see on the computer the actual planned shipment dates for two separate days. It just seemed pretty specific, unless that is normal for releases.

I have a feeling it's going to be awhile still, though I hope otherwise for those that already preordered. :(

I've preordered many music items before and I can tell you right now that those dates are never accurate, they are estimated. The date will continuously change each week until the store gets the product and actually sends you a shipping notification. It's not worth hassling the employees because they are trained to give you a random date so you don't cancel your preorder.
