it would be cool if you could temporarily switch the electribe to Omni midi mode and assign a note to each pad so you could record your midi drum loops from older electribes/other sequencers really quickly.
Or if korg gave us their entire back catalogue electribe pattern library suitably converted to the new electribe and then enjoy the copy part between different patterns

I second the ability to import all samples in a given directory. But in addition to that I want the ability to
A. Name the file that gets created when I EXPORT ALL SAMPLE.
B. Name the file that gets created when I EXPORT ALL PATTERN.
Currently both default to a standard file name that gets overwritten every time I use that function. If I could rename it I could easily switch between different sets of samples using the IMPORT SAMPLE function. Right now I have a process where I move those files to my computer, rename, and then put back on the SD. And for every sample set I also have a corresponding pattern set. This way I can safely wipe the device of all data and know I can jump back to something I was working on at a later time. But it's too much hassle. If they'd just let us SAVE AS like on the ESx it would alleviate many sample management woes.

Can you create a group of folders on the SD card, one for each project say, and save each project's patterns/samples in it's own folder?gizmoismogwai wrote:I second the ability to import all samples in a given directory. But in addition to that I want the ability to

If I'm not listening to music, or if I'm not making music, then I'm probably thinking about music.
Volca Sample, FM, Beats, Kick. OP-1, Monologue, Pocket Operators. And an ipad.

I would really like an easy way to enter velocity values for step sequencing.
Just a few improvements would go a long way. Making the "Step Edit" menus circular would help - you can turn notes on and off in the first menu - but it is 6 right arrow buttons to get to velocity. If it was circular - then it would be one left button (first menu wraps to last menu.)
It would be better, however, if the "Sequencer" mode (not the Step Edit menu) had a very intuitive way to enter velocity. The track pad seems logical. Or the pads - right now they're on/off toggles - but why not on/off and record the velocity?
Velocity aside - I would really like some improvement to the event recorder (editable) or a proper song mode.
I think it is a good box. A few tweaks end up making huge differences for useability. If Korg is reading this - thank you to your engineers!

First, pitch bend. I would love to be able to bend notes using the touchpad, and have that performance recorded into the sequencer. It'd also be nice if it responded to pitch bend over MIDI.
Autoglide. Glide on every note just sounds bad, I would really like to be able to have it *only* on held notes... so it would give portamento when the notes are played one note smoothly after the other (legato), but otherwise would not (when playing staccato, for example).
These are common on other instruments and would open up far more expressive performances.
I'd also like to second the call for using the pads in keyboard mode, within the step sequencer. It'd be great to be able to sequence note by note using the pads. The 303 sound is not just about the filter, it's also about the way the sequencer influences the tunes that you write. You get different melodies when you go note by note without hearing it. Plus, the knob is just a bad UI - it's awkward and it can't even use your scale/key settings.
For that matter, a per-part clock divider (like the one on the volca keys) would go a long way towards making 4 bars acceptable. If I can have 16 bars of quarter notes on my lead and my chord pads, then I can live with only 4 bars for my drums and bass parts.
I also find it funny that the gate arp is neither a gate nor an arpeggiator, but it doesn't really need fixing (beyond the name) as a rhythmic retrigger is a perfectly fine thing to have.

ohh yes, at least change the pitch knob range... now it goes +/- 2 octaves we should be able to set this by steps for each part.sharps030 wrote:First, pitch bend. ES2...
Make the last used pattern the default upon power up.
Ability to alter velocity of notes when using step sequencer. If this is an option, i haven't figured out how to change it.
Give the main filter a bit more bite. It sound nice, but not awesome, a bit flat like the old Electrix stuff.
Random pattern algorithm.
