All much better examples than Oasis IMHOGiner wrote:If you want to go further back with Manchester, there's The Hollies, 10 c.c., Herman's Hermits, Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. All major hitmakers in the 60’s and 70's.
Time to brush up, jimknopf.

It isn't as exciting as some of you hope. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2015/ ... more-65593

Dear jesus!!!
Firstly, I read that Korg did try to do the Oasis version but during development the two main components kept arguing then separated into relative obscurity.
I don't know, whoever on here said these will sell like hotcakes I'd respectfully disagree with. I cannot think of a single target market for the unit. Really odd that this made it through a product development cycle.
At least to Korg's credit (and aside these odd ventures into the kind of nonsense Roland and Yamaha are more prone to I love the company and its contributions of late) the promo video was great. Male model awkwardly following directions like 'press keys repetitively, they are the white and black things by the way' and 'can you look like you are really enjoying it', it was a classic. Particularly love when he rolled it out to various public places and just stood there, presumably not working out that without a power socket nearby thats pretty much all he could do.

From another point of view I think this is a great and very cool idea actually both for users and for Korg.
I have listened the demos on SoundCloud, and I remembered how great these original songs are. This music deserves to be used as teaching material for the next generation.
I think generally arranger keyboards are useful tools for musicians and composers. With this special one you can play songs in one of the most successful styles in modern music. And you can write your own songs super easily. You get ingredients and recipes for making hits. How cool is that?
I'm glad that young musicians can enjoy playing with these music materials, disassembling the songs, analysing the parts and creating new ones, based on the arrangements and music styles of truly one of the greatest bands, The Beatles.
I don’t think I belong to the target group, still, as a composer I can see Korg Liverpool (cool name) is an interesting instrument to play with. I would try that.
Additionally, I think it is a very clever business idea to link the songs to the hardware - instead of simply making a downloadable ‘Liverpool Style Pack' for microARRANGER.

Akos you make excellent points.
And in particular - you are correct that this is not for all users / buyers. this is an important point I like to make to those slagging off little synthesisers that might not be for the likes of us who have bought a Kronos or Oasys.
Such keyboards as this are not only very well specified, but as you say, serve many user bases in a whole range of positive areas.
Appreciate you reminding those of us becoming perhaps a tad too cynical of the positive attributes of these releases.
Kudos to you.

Dear Kevin, thank you, I appreciate it very much.
Of course, while I can be glad about these news, I also understand others’ different opinions and agree valid points.
Liverpool is not for us O/K users primarily but I think this new functionality would be interesting in our instruments, too. To conduct the Beatles in a studio with some fingers only...
All the best,
Akos

Yes I'm really not aware so much where many of the British groups come from.Giner wrote:If you want to go further back with Manchester, there's The Hollies, 10 c.c., Herman's Hermits, Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. All major hitmakers in the 60’s and 70's.

So from the list you gave me, I now now that Manchester provided all the soft, harmless and tamed versions of British music, from Hollies to Oasys. Even in Germany fathers told their children to wear their hair "long but neat", pointing at some Herman's Hermit's milk faces poster, while accepting "no milk today" as halfway civilized song.
@Akos:
the basic idea could be fun with much better sound quality, well useable for more purposes. Even then, I'm not sure, if many parents would buy a complete keyboard, just to introduce a classic part of modern pop music to them.
