Effects on main drum track

I've had a pa600 for about a year, and love it, always learning new ways to do things on it. The effects section took me awhile to get used to, and it is really powerful in making performances and styles dynamic.

I'm a little confused, when I edit a style and mess around with the effects applied to each track. The first track, which is the drum track in every style, seems to sometimes accept the effects and sometimes not. In other words, I might turn up whatever "A" effects should be applied to the drum track, and I won't hear the effect at all. Sometimes I'll do this with a style and the effects on the drums will be obvious and very noticeable.

Why the difference from style to style? Is it dependent on what drum kit is used for the track?

Perhaps because the FX SEND for the DRUM channel is set to zero??? Check MENU >> MIXER TUNING >> FX SEND . Press TRACK SELECT until you see the DRUM channel then adjust MASTER 1 or 2 send depending on your effects settings

Thanks, Thoraldus, I'll have to look at it again when I get home to my pa600. It sounds like you're describing exactly what I've been doing. I go into the mixer and press TRACK SELECT and see all of the tracks, the first one being the drum track. I click on the FX SEND tab and see the dials for each effect, and turn them up, sometimes hearing the result and sometimes getting nothing at all, which is odd because I can turn them up on the other tracks in the same style and hear the result.

It's really hard to explain these steps without seeing the keyboard in front of me. When I get home I'll see if I can explain it better.

I figured it out mostly. The FX Send is actually set up with each drum kit, in the Voice Mixer tab when editing the kit. This is why it is apparent that some kits have more effects going on than others.

It is set with each Style or Songbook entry.
