Nah.. In Omaha at the time there was a big-box style music store called Marz Music. They bought a ton of them hoping they would sell, and filled up their showroom. I also bought two DX200's there for $145 each, and they had XL-7 and MP-7 there for around $550, which was an unheard of price. In my opinion, that makes it even *more* of a product failure. I defend the new Electribes. I actually think it's funny how pissed off people get here. But anyway, I might be alone in actually thinking the old Electribes are overrated and sound dated. I make ambient, drone and experimental music and the E2 has proven to be a useful tool. I'm not expecting a full fledged synth or drum machine when I pick it up, but rather something that does a bit of everything. I'll keep saying it - jack of all trades, master of none. It has flaws? So what, every piece of gear has flaws to someone and that doesn't mean it's s**t. You learn to make music with it or move on. I'd love to get in a room with some of these complainers and see their workflow.

Amen. Sometimes I think it's lame that this forum hosts 1000000 discussions about what people hate but barely anyone posts music they make on the devices. I mean really, the new electribes are great. I've made a lot of music I'm happy with and that to me sounds pro. It's like, if you think your ESX is so great then post some music and let's talk about it. Everyone knows it's not you. You've clearly mentioned that you miss certain features, yet you still use the new tribes. It's ok to be frustrated with them. I definitely have my moments. The problem is users here who constantly whine about the same tired issues. No 4 bars...yeah we get that....step edit dumbed down....it's been known...etc etc.
It's been almost a year now since then tribe2 was released. The whining and moaning should log be overdue by now. It's far more fruitful to concentrate on workarounds and tips and tricks than to complain about what's lacking. I personally would like a stronger community here...where we help each other , ask and answer questions, work flow ideas, share sounds and patches, etc. these synth and sampler challenges we've been throwing over the past few months is a good example of that. The track that apapdop and myself did in tandem is another. Let's move forward and not stagnate.
