Pads to keyboard notes
Is it possible to program the pads on the Kronos (which you would normally be able to play on a NanoPad or the Akai MPK mini pads or something similar) to an actual key on the keyboard? So for example, could you route Pad 1 to be played on A2, Pad 2 to B2, and so on?

Yes, absolutely - I use this feature...
I don't have my KK in front of me but you set it up in GLOBAL mode.
Best I can do right now is point you to the pic of the screen on page 161 in the "Kronos_op_guide_E5.pdf"
At the bottom of the screen you will see how you can assign pad playing to keyboard keys.
Cheers

So page 161 (or actually 162, with a lead-up from 161) directed me to page 35. This only told me how to assign pads to specific notes on the keyboard GLOBALLY. So that seems like now these notes will ALWAYS be used to play the pads — and that is not what I want. I only want it on one sound or one combination. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks for the help anyways. The only way I figured out how to play a whole chord with just one note for only ONE sound was to assign a bunch of the same sound in a combi and then note by note shift their pitch until eventually I had a chord. So say, for instance, I wanted to a simple Cmajor chord with one note. I would assign a piano sound to 3 timbres in a combi, and then assign them all to C3. I would first leave the first timbre alone and get the actual C3 piano note. Then I would go to the second timbre and pitch shift it up to +4, to get an E3 note. And then finally I would shift the third timbre up to +7 to get a G3 note. And wallah, when I play the C3 note, it will trigger all of those notes. The problem with this is it takes up a LOT of space in a combi, unfortunately. But it has worked for now.

The pad assignment to a key is global, as already mentionned.
Using combis is the only way to do it. But instead of transposing each note in a combi part to make chord, use instead the Chord Pad function. For each program, go to Common / Program Basic. In the Voice Assign Mode, in the Source Pad tab, choose the pad that will be played by the keys.
You can make a program that will play PAD1, make a copy of to play a program that will play PAD2, and so on...And assign up to 8 programs to 8 parts of a combi.

Pads to keyboard notes
After selecting the second Tab on the lower left area of the touch screen, you'll see a Pads Tab on the right side of the display.
You can assign notes or chords to the 8 Pads for each Program, Combi and Song.
Simply press the Chord Assign Button, play note(s) and then touch a Pad column.

Re: Pads to keyboard notes
That sets the notes for the pad. It does not set a trigger key as the OP was looking for.jackh wrote:After selecting the second Tab on the lower left area of the touch screen, you'll see a Pads Tab on the right side of the display.

Thanks Geo!
I now realize that my explanation only showed how to play and assign notes & chords from the Kronos display (or from a Nano Pad, or external control source).
Here's how to use the Chord Memory function:
For EXi programs, press the Common tab, and set Chord > to Bsc or Adv (basic & advanced). You can set the Source Pad from 1 through 8.
For HD-1 programs, press the Basic/Vector, tab, and the same options are available.
For Combi & Sequence Modes, press the Timbre Parameter and OSC.
You can set this function for 1-16 Timbres.
Bsc is mono, and Adv is poly.
Select & hold these fields while pressing the Help button for more info.
I love using this feature in Program Mode, with various triggering options (Poly/Single/Legato), and with Unison/Number Of Voices/ Stereo Spread, Detune & Thickness.
Enjoy & have fun!
