Hi to all,
Is it possible to convert NRPN midi message (like the arp octave range) in a normal CC#???
Is possible to assign a CC# (or a NRPN) to the pitch transpose?
Thank you very much

Thanks, OpAmp.
I'm unfamiliar with SysEx… but would it be possible to send a SysEx message from an iPad?
I was able to log the MIDI data that the MKXL desktop editor sends, but I'm unsure of how to send this same message from an iPad (I'm using TBMidiStuff though open to other apps):
Bend Range +12:
F0 42 30 7E 41 11 00 10 00 0C 00 F7
Bend Range +2:
F0 42 30 7E 41 11 00 10 00 02 00 F7
Much appreciated.

Hi Funky Butter.
I don't own an iPad, but it should be fine. MIDI SysEx is nothing special. It is just a variable and longer length message than the usual note on/off etc message. Everything which starts with F0 and ends with F7 is a SysEx message. Google tells me that TBMidiStuff supports SysEx. So from that point of view it should be ok. It should be as simple to type over the sequence above. Question is how easily can you control the values that you indicated in bold...
Note that for a program with 2 timbres, you may need to send an extra SysEx message. The 11 (6th byte) should become 21 then.
Have fun

OpAmp– Thanks a ton for your help on this. I've been trying for months to map my iPad to the MKXL to do big pitch sweeps and ribbon/Martenot-style control, and, your advice on the SysEx command finally brought my (evil) plans to fruition:

You're very welcome!
Looks like a nice app to control the XL.
To an3, who might feel its topic is hijacked. A similar approach will be needed for the original XL. Octave range is not an NRPN or a normal CC#. There probably exists a SysEx message as well. Somebody else, owning an original one might help you, because it will be different, but similar, than the one shown here for the XL.
