radias midi clock

Post by sleepinghills »

hey guys ,

maybe a noob question but i can't seem to find the answer myself..
I own a Radias ( rack version ) I use a roland keyboard to control it .
my question is ..
I tried to midi sync the radias arpeggiator with my software (reason ) . and it works. (Midi out from sequencer to midi thru (kenton thru box) to midi in on radias. But now i can't control the radias anymore with my roland because it's midi in is occupied . Is there some other way ... ?

thanx

Hi,

1. Use a MIDI merger box. E.g. Kenton has one. http://www.kentonuk.com/products/items/ ... rge4.shtml. It allows to connect the MIDI out of your roland keyboard and Reason to the box, merges both MIDI streams which you input in the Radias. Never used it my self though...

2. I don't know Reason enough, but if you can connect your keyboard to your PC and you may let Reason loop back (merge) the stream and send it out again to the Radias together with the MIDI clock for synchro.

Have fun.

You don't need a merge box. The software will send the MIDI from your controller keyboard or any other controller through to your synth. You just need to set the software up to do so. I haven't used Reason in years so I don't remember how to do that but it should be straightforward as it's pretty essential functionality!
