ES2 small MIDI Keyboard

Post by neoureaux »

I'm looking for a small keyboard that has midi out and it would also be amazing if it could be battery or AC powered too!
I want to use it with my ES2. Now I'm using M-Audio Axiom 25, but it is too big. Akai LPK 25 has perfect dimensions, but it is only USB powered and can't connect it to E2S MIDI IN.
Any suggestions?

Are there any that have an arpeggiator?

I have only found two midi keyboards that are battery powered.

Behringer UMA25S and Rock Band 3 Wireless Keyboard for PlayStation 3.

But does it work with non-KMI controllers?

According to my guy at Control Voltage, KMI is proprietary. Kenton makes a USB to MIDI that's universal.

Has anyone used the Keylab with the new Electribes? It has a midi out, seems to have a lot under the hood too.

So does Bome with the BomeBox, i.e. class compliant :

For DIYers, there's the Arduino with an USB Host Shield :

what about the Taktile (25 or 49)? You can use it standalone with the electribe2, and do arps as well. Has much in common in terms of functionality - scales, kaoss pad, trigger pads. And if I am not mistaken, you can set up scenes, each on a different midi channel - so you can easily work with all 16 parts.

Im currently considering purchasing. Anyone here have any experience using it with the e2/es2?

I love, love, love my 49. It has a low power mode. The arp is cool and you can switch channels quickly.

When switching MIDI channels on the Taktile, how quickly can it be done? Is it possible to set each trigger pad with a different channel (for one-touch selection)?

I have a taktile25. How are you guys hooking up your midi keys cuz from what I know there is no midi thru on the new electribes??? And I've tried w my taktile. But the taktile is a badboy. You can get them cheap now and it does a whole lot.

You change channels by hitting the menu button and then using the data slider to select the channel OR you can set up a view for each channel. Each of the controls and pads can be set to use the current channel or be channel specific. Different config a can be setup and saved in each view and you can set it all up from either the front panel or the config software.
