Yes , hardware permits sample editor, no problem in reading so sample editor is only a software feature.
MP3 recorder and sampling recorder requires specific hardware i think pa600 don't have this hardware.
I hope in sample editor , it's a great thing!

PA600 next update

Post by hans1966 »

Hello Friends, would be an excellent idea in the next update of Korg PA600 could include the following characteristics: 1.grabador and sample editor with a user memory of 256 MB capacity. importing and exporting files in KMP, WAV, AIFF, AKAI And SOUNFONT 2. editing function in the sequencer formats could include: TEMPO TRACK, and functions change of control and PROGRAM. 3. MP3 recorder. 4.Two Additional user banks with more than 500 new and enhanced sounds and RX DNC. then we would have a powerful interactive keyboard very close to those of Korg PA900 capabilities. greetings Hans

Is no crime to be a dreamer.
Whatever you hope for in next update, never gonna happen, Pa600 is good how is now for money you pay.
This is how works marketing, they do all they can to improve flagship keyboards, but rest of them they design with less functionality for reason, this is why many people enjoy playing Korg for less money.
They can fix some existing bugs, maybe a little touch up, but they never going to provide you with replacement memory RAM, add mp3 recorder or audio decoders.
I know this is a human nature spend less and want more, but sorry, is it what is it.
Happy Holiday to all.
Enjoy playing Christmas songs on excellent keyboard Pa600.

korg pa600

Hello Nemik, it's just a wish list around, I'm very happy with my PA600, later find another keyboard to complement Korg PA600, such as a Korg Kronos, or perhaps PA4X although the latter is very expensive, obviouslyIt will be in a year or two. greetings Hans

Its not a new os, and i don't think it will be public anytime soon..
It is a modified version of the v1.20 os with the sample editing mode enabled (and a custom boot screen which is pretty easy to be done).
No other new functions...
Mp3 recorder is not implemented at all in the os (sample editing is, but disabled ) and ram can't be upgraded..
Additional user banks for styles/sounds/performances etc are possible with a bit of research but not needed so will not happen anytime soon or at all...
So the only easily possible "hack" is the samplling menu the video shows..

Whatever else you do....

NEVER INSTALL ANY OS VERSION/LEVEL THAT IS NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPLIED OR SUPPORTED BY KORG

Just enjoy what you have rather than potentially destroy it (possibly permanently)

By the way - history has proven these dangers.

Also any promotion of hacked Korg software will be deleted and its source banned from these forums.

I agree with Karmathanever!
Even if no dangers exist, sharing a modified in the app os of any type shows disrespect to the programmers.
The system is open source (linux) but the app that runs on it is copywrited.
Glad we answered the original question but no need to alter anything.
Someday it may be something free as the pa800 256mb or even korg may release it but for all the reasons we said i think that a normal user should leave this aside and not refer or ask for it in a public forum as long as there is no official release/support.

Not to mention this dude sells the modified version for $100 or something like that. Too bad there's no way of reporting such YouTube accounts.

The link is not working now but i remember that he doesn't sell it or give it at all from the comments and the description.Anyway,i think this thread should be closed as it is nonsense and may make others start searching for the update..

Then, it must be the other guy who was doing this. He even got banned from here for doing so.
