New tribes...copy sound between patterns?

Post by Jiggins »

Is there no way of copying a sound between patterns? As an experiment I just created 16 nice synth patches in one pattern (no sequencing) and just realized I can't copy them to other patterns!

I cannot find any function in the menu, unless someone has found a way to do it?

Go to the pattern you want to copy to.
Go to the part utility.
Copy part sound.
Select source pattern.
Select source part.
Select destination track.
Done.

If you couldn't find it in the menus I'm not sure which menus you were looking at.

When I hit Copy Sound it says Select Destination. There is no option to select a different destination pattern

He's talking about the E2' the " I just made 16 nice synth patches in one pattern" is a dead giveaway.

This has been discussed before, do some search, I think it wasn't possible, but I don't own one so can't say for sure.
Korg gear I own:
electribes EA-1,ER-1,2x ES-1, EMX-1SD, ESX-1SD
DW 8000, Wavestation SR, KP3, Volca Beats, Keys MS 2000 R

Korg gear I've used extensively:
M1, Triton Pro-x 88, SG-1D, NanoPad, NanoKontrol

It's proberly because you Got an old firmware.
You need to Update your electribe to do it.

This sounds more like it because I just bought one new. How do you check which version is running?

I doubt you need to update your firmware but who knows.
More likely its this:
You need to be in your destination pattern to copy.
It's a 'copy from' type of deal not a 'copy to' thang.

That's cool, I have the sampler version, never updated. still on v 1.05. Everything works fine over here.
I did want to point out that he was trying the procedure in a backwards way, so it wouldn't work like that on any OS version.

What backwards way? The function is simply not there on mine. It asks if you want to Copy Sound, you hit enter and then it says select destination with no way to switch patterns.

I'm not sure which version I'm running. I will do a search on how to check current version running if know one knows on here

On my electribe sampler it's no problem to copy Sounds between patterns, but on the synth version it was, before the Update.
Think it's because the synth came out before the sampler, and they fixed it in the samplers firmware.

You are proberly on the first firmware version.

You need to initiate the update firmware sequence (not at my machine now) to see the version number. And if you don't want to update you can back out there.

Is it called copy sound or copy part on the synth version?

It's copy part sound.
I don't think it was there on 1.03, but came in with 1.10

its the same as copying a Part - you begin by being in the Pattern you wish to copy TO -

That way you only need select a Pattern once.
