The sustain pedal works, a bit too much I'll admit; and was hoping to find a solution to my problem.
So, I press the sustain pedal and it functions as expected; however, it continues to sustain notes at the same intensity long after I have moved on to other portions of my passage. As an example, I start by playing a C with a sustain, then as the piece progress, I move to an F. And boom, both C and F are playing -- I haven't yet taken off my foot off of the sustain pedal. This is especially annoying when you are playing the strings. I bet there's some setting that I am not setting correctly. Any help? On a Yamaha or Roland, this is never a problem. I can keep the sustain pedal pressed down. The previously played notes will eventually die down and won't be heard until I play them again.
Sustain Pedal.. too much sustain!

If the Program or Combi normally continues to sound for as long as a key is kept pressed down, then keeping the sustain pedal pressed would also lead to the note continuing to sound for as long as the sustain pedal is pressed, even if the key(s) have been released. That seems like normal behaviour. If the Program or Combi normally decays whilst the key remains pressed, then I would expect the sound also to decay whilst the sustain pedal is pressed. String sounds e.g. violin, would normally continue to play whilst a key or the sustain pedal is pressed, unless the Program sound is a pizzicato or some other decaying or short-lived sound.

Sounds like you need to reverse to polarity on your pedal. Press the "GLOBAL" button and then "P2- CONTROLLERS". You can then switch from "Korg Standard (-)" or "+".

Yes, and No. You could be right, but on other synths, arrangers, and workstations that I have worked on, a sustain behaves more like a setting with a long release on the Krome.voip wrote:That seems like normal behaviour.

Right now, I have the Yamaha PSR2K by my side and pressing the sustain for any instrument sustains the note(s) for only so long.
Nevertheless, thanks for taking the time to respond, I do appreciate it.
On my Roland Fantom this is called "decay". So even if your still pressing the pedal the sound naturally dies out. I do not have my Krome here now but I don't recall ever seeing that setting. Release is how the sound dies out without the pedal. For Krome sounds with a long decay I have just gotten used to lifting my foot off of the pedal for a split second when I want the note to stop.
Krome long sustain for strings
Did anyone find a solution to this annoying behavior. I used to play a Yamaha, its not like that. I am solo player and I need the strings background. When you play in Combi mode, you can turn the damper off so you don't have this feature. But in Program mode, I have combed the whole damn thing and cannot figure out how to decay the sustain for the strings.
