No longer able to switch gadget on a track

Since the last update I can no longer switch the gadget for a particular track (the 'gadget' button that used to be in the bottom right of the screen when editing a clip has gone).

Is this a bug or by design? It totally destroys any useful workflow. I can't write something for a track then flick through gadgets to find a different sound - I would have to create a new track with a different gadget and rewrite the music in that track. (And the same goes for layering etc).

To my understanding you use midi button to activate particular track to respond to midi

You can change the Gadget now on top of the page when you click on the track-name.
For example click on:
Track 3 - Wolfsburg
