Multiple pattern set exports

Post by 13enti »

Hello all,

Is there anyway to rename exported pattern sets (p.sets)? Or name them before export?

I've been playing the ES2, and want to get different p.sets onto the computer. A problem I've been having is that the all the sets end up being put in the same file. So, e.g. I have 2 p.sets: 1-4 and 5-6; and I'd like to have 2 different Live sets exported. But when I export the sets (separately) and load it into my computer, they're under the same "PatternSet Project".
Am I missing something or is it just the way it is? Thanks.

You can't rename anything on the card from the e2 itself.
You can rename once you have them on your computer.
If you delete the first set from your card after you get it on your computer, you can then export the second pattern set without having all the extra files from the previous sets.

Darn. Alright, thanks for the information. I guess it'll just be something to work through.

On a similar note, is it possible to combine single exported patterns into one pattern file? I have a few house patterns that I have exported individually to my SD card. I can load these individual patterns with no problem, but I would like to combine that into a pattern set so I can build up a live set from them. Is this possible? Is there a pattern editor out there in the same vein as the sample editors?

There is some sort of pattern editor out there for the e2,not sure to what degree it works... but this is actually one of the easiest things to do straight from the electribe itself.
I keep a blank all pattern file in my subfolders with my blank all sample files and corresponding pattern files (all this stuff needs to be moved/organized on the computer).
Once organized it makes it quite easy to load the machine with all the patterns empty, then import whatever pattern files you want. Export as a new all pattern, then move it to the proper subfolder on the card with the computer.

It's a juggling act with the card between the electribe and the computer for sure, but I don't really mind. Works a lot quicker/better than gear I've owned in the past.

Thanks a lot dude, I'll try this tonight when I get home. The sampling time limitation doesn't seem as big an issue if you can load sample files from sub-folders.
