I've been copying some samples to my Volca Sample with Caustic on an iPhone. I deleted a few of the factory presets, and loaded up a couple of my own samples, all ok so far. Then I decided it'd be better if I deleted all the factory samples so I can just have my own samples. I selected Clear all Samples in caustic, which it did, but now I can't load any samples. Whatever I do I just get "S.---" in the Volca's display when I try and select a sample. I've tried restoring the factory samples in Caustic and inAudio Pocket, but no success.
Any suggestions?
Steve
Can't restore factory samples to Volca Sample?

I don't have the Volca Sample yet (hopefully this week), but have you tried restoring the factory samples from your computer using a program that can play a wav file?

Make sure no background sounds can play, and you may need to adjust the volume. Hope this works for you - I intend to use many of my own samples, so I'm kind of concerned.

I was able to reload the factory samples with the Caustic editor. It's a long process you have to wait out (about 30 minutes), but it does indeed work. I did it from my Windows laptop, but had to set the volume very low.
A word of caution: reloading the factory samples will replace every sound you have saved in the Volca. There's no way to pick and choose individual factory samples you want loaded, it restores all 100 sounds at once.

You don't need any app at all to restore the factory samples. On the Sample's product page, scroll down to "Volca Sample Factory Sample Set" where you can download a .wav file that will restore the full set from any computer's audio out:

Reloading factory samples could not be simple, even if you disable all effects and possible artifacts on your audio device some problems could still arise. I tried without success with Caustic on my Samsung Galaxy SII and with my ASUS notebook but, even if I tried lot of possible volume values, no luck: "Error dcod" always came out after a few seconds.
I then tried with my Desktop HP PC just using windows media player and I succeed: anyway some volume tests were still required to get the total restoration of factory samples using the provided audio file from KORG as mentioned by heyotwell:

Just to be more rigorous, and, hopefully, to be able to provide you with a reference volume value I measured it with an oscilloscope and the output of my working configuration ranges from (peak to peak) -288mV to +288mV:

The periodic sinusoidal signal that you can see is the carrier between two samples.
