Copying all factory styles and pads with "Save All"

Post by deepak »

Dear All, I have modified (customised) some factory styles and pads on my PA3X. What is the procedure to copy all factory styles and Pads including all the customisation I have done and make a set? Every time I update my music resources, I lose my changes to the pads and styles in the factory styles area. "Full Restore backup" does not seem to help.

Copying all factory styles and pads with "Save All"

Post by deepak »

Hi Sam, my question was regarding factory styles and not user styles. As I have customised some factory styles to suit my needs at their original location, I lose them every time I update my OS or musical resources. I hope I am making my question clear.
Thanks. Waiting for a suggestion.

You should be saving the customised file to a user location and renaming it. Then, when you want to save it either individually or the whole user, write it to a stick. Hope this helps

You can save factory banks by firstly unprotecting them then, when saving "open" the "save all", select "style" and "open" it then you'll see the factory, favourite and user banks listed and you can then save the banks you wish.

Sorry - not near PA4X (same as PA3X re this) so if you need more specific instructions, I can send them later - just let me know.

Cheers

Dear karmathanever,
I unprotected the factory styles, pads and sounds and then used the "save all". then in media I "load" open the set, open styles I only see all Favorites and 3 user banks That's all. What am I missing?

1. Go to global: Mode Preference/Media .... unlock Factory Style and Pad Protect.
2. Go to Media: Save and select All, , then Save To, then New SET, create name and OK, then you should see options what you can include in this SET.
You should see Factory Style also.

Sorry for the trouble and my ignorance.

DUE TO SOME ODD REASON, I DONT HAVE THIS IN MY PA3X
[/b]
when I press "Global" There is no option to un-protect.
All I see general controls, controllers, midi, audio setup, voice processor setup, voice processor preset, video interface, Maxx Master EQ and touch calibration.

2. Go to Media: Save and select All, , then Save To, then New SET, create name and OK, then you should see options what you can include in this SET.
You should see Factory Style also.
In your point # 2 ---Here I have unprotected as per your point # 2 So during "save-all" The only highlighted 8 options are Favorite Style, user sound & DK, user style, PCM, user pad, songbook, performance and Global
The factory styles option is not to be seen.

Some one please tell me what am I missing?

Maybe PA3x has no option to save as my previous direction, this was how is in Pa600, but try other way.
1. Remove Protection in Media/Preferences.
2. Go to Media/Save/ ... open ALL, open Style, then you should see Banko1~15, that's Factory Banks and do one by one.

I followed Pa3x User manual this time.

Dear Nemik, with due respect I have to ask you. Have you actually tried it? Because after opening styles, I still only see favorites and user banks and I do not see "factory" This is very weird.

Yes, I did many times, but I am on Pa600 :? .
one more thing, when you saving is save to new created SET folder, you have to be sure you navigate to this folder and open before load.

Hi Deepak,

i just tried this exactly as mentioned (to be sure I make no mistake)

press MEDIA
select tab Preferences and untick Factory and Pad Protect
select tab Save
select All > press Open
select Style > press Open
now you should see:
BANK 01 -> BANK 15 (these are the factory style banks)
FAVORITE 01 -> FAVORITE 12
USER 01 -> USER 03

I appreciate your patience and help. Thanks, yes this way I see them. But are they being saved every time I do a "Save All"? Or do I need to copy them one by one?
