Commission a hacker to supe up the E2S OS.

Whaddaya say we create a gofundme account and all put a little money into an account for paying someone like Japanese Jenius to create a JJOS for the new Tribes?

I think JJ only knows how to reverse engineer the 1k/2k5 MPC operating systems (since he was a part of the team making them). I very much doubt he'd be able to do anything similar with any other piece of hardware.

Besides, the es2 will never be perfect. The CPU is too puny and the output stage is noisy. Just accept it for what it is and move along.

thats a sorrowful position to take; u dont know what the JJ team or person can do so whay put out an assumption that he can only do mpc o/s.

again u dont know that with clever programming more may be able to be achieved with the es2 hardware, and the outputs are far from noisy I would say the output are exceptionally clean.

so ur negative outlook on the situation has blinded u to the possibilities.

I think we should look into someone hacking and developing a new o/s if korg is unwilling to address feature requests

It is however a known fact that "JJ" worked for Akai on the MPC development team. Therefore he would have had inside knowledge of the OS. the same would not be true for the Electribe. also I think the statement about the processing power is probably fairly accurate, given the number of parts you can use before voice stealing.

I'm not saying it would be impossible though but I wouldn't waste my time on it.

I'd say sign the petition for bug fixes, hope they do some improvements too, and move on.
Korg gear I own:
electribes EA-1,ER-1,2x ES-1, EMX-1SD, ESX-1SD
DW 8000, Wavestation SR, KP3, Volca Beats, Keys MS 2000 R

Korg gear I've used extensively:
M1, Triton Pro-x 88, SG-1D, NanoPad, NanoKontrol

is it not possible that a rogue developer from the Korg Electribe team could emerge and replicate the types of innovations that the JJ/OS rogue brought to the MPC?

I'll help you out yes it is possible

Did you even read the whole post? You know, the one you Quoted?

Just about anything is possible these days but is it worth the effort? whatever, I'm gonna go try to poop out a gold brick.....

a gold brick is not equivalent in effort for a korg developer to add the required features imo even if they are recruited via crowd funded

I am sorry if I seem like a debbie downer to you, just trying to be realistic here. The es2 is a low price point groovebox, it is unreasonable to expect miracles from it. Get an octatrack or an MPC instead.

I for one like what I can do with the es2 as it is currently. Accept it for what it is, warts and all, and just make music.

Seriously people. Let's not Frankenstein this piece of gear. Let it be and move on! If you can't make it work, it ain't for you!
