Best stand for PA4X 76 (home use) ?

Post by Volkhard »

While I gave in and ordered the PA4X which will arrive soon, I am looking for the best possible stand.
KORG offers the STSV1 and sometimes the PA4X IS mentioned. Unfortunately the KORG site is not well maintained.

Example: Korg PAAS speakers are still labels with only PA3x while they fit as we at the PA4x both versions.
What is everyone using with their PA4x (stationary home use)?
Recommendation for speakers are also welcome.

keyboard stand

Post by keith-helen »

Hi Volkhard

I am using the Korg ST-SV1 BK stand and have no problems with it. I only use the keyboard at home so I would not know if it is suitable for use at a gig

Best wishes

Thanks for the input.

I ended up downloading the manual for the PA4x and only there I saw mentioned: yes indeed the Korg Stand fits the PA4x. I like the idea that the stand aftually is bolted into the bottom of the board, which should make it very secure.

It is just unfortunate that Korg is not doing a better job on their website, clearly updating the info. If they go the extra mile to design the housing of new boards to fit the stand or the PAAS speakers, this info should be readily and prominent available at the item. I am guessing they are loosing a lot of extra revenue with accessories because of a lazy marketing department.

I am just happy that the Stand will fit.

And yes, I am German currently living in the US.

Hi Volkhard,

das PA4X hat unten keine Löcher, um es auf dem Korg-Ständer zu befestigen ;)

Es liegt darauf, wie auf jedem anderen Keyboardständer.

@All in english: The Stand can not be bolted to the PA4X !

are you sure?

Post by Volkhard »

I downloaded the Korg PA4X manual and it explicit lists the stand as accessory and the description of the stand if very specific about the two bolts that go into the bottom of the board. I believe without bolted to the bottom it is not a good stand!

What a mess with KORG and their lack or mis-information. If you know this fact for sure, please let me know so I can reject the KORG Stand I ordered from Amazon and look for something else.

Thanks for your input.

Volkhard

PS
I keep it in English as I think the majority speaks English and appreciate the information as well.

keyboard stand

Post by keith-helen »

Hi Volkhard

I have the Korg stand as mentioned above and it comes with two bolts which secure the keyboard to the frame.

I hope this helps you.

Hi,

I must apologize, I just took a longer look to the bottom of my PA4X-76M and yes, there are 2 screw threads, most probably they´re for the mentioned korg-stand

It is tempting to have the keyboard screwed to the stand.

I ordered the KORG stand from B&H and it should arrive next week.

On a sidenote:
According to KORG USA the stand will NOT fit with the PA4X, at least that was the email comment of customer support after they reconfirmed with tech Support! Quite frankly I believe they just don't know and perhaps are not really interested to have a deeper knowledge of their product portfolio.

After I read Snoopy's first comment, I thought oh man, all the research and I am still wrong. I just thought Snoopy, as a German (like myself) is making a precise and clear statement. Later I saw, he is from East Fresia.... (insider joke, I hope Snoopy you have humor!).

Thank you Snoopy for actually taking your board off and doing a detailed inspection which led to your second and rectifying post.

I think that sums it up and I will post in a couple of days after I have mounted my new PA4X on the KORG stand, so it might be helpful for others in the future.

Hi Volkhard,

you bet that I´ve got humor :D

And there don´t exist any jokes about east-frisians: All that is told is the truth ;)

( and I´m not a native eastfrisian :D :D :D ).

Wish you a lot of fun with your PA4X

HI Volkhard,

Can you tell us how the stand worked for you with your PA4x 76 key?
Thanks

I use the same as cheaper models had for years, the X stand. I like that i can change what hight I use to the chair I have. It is very steady and cheap. The only negative, can be its not possible, if you want your legs under the keyboard.
As this is not a spelling contest and English is not my first language, I hope you all can overlook my mistakes...
