I read on the official Korg webpage for the Monologue (not to be confused w/ the Minilogue) that one can "overdub" in the "real-time" mode of the sequencer. That strikes me as quite astonishing as that would mean polyphony to me. And the Monologue is monophonic (hence its name!).
Can anybody tell me what the dear people at Korg might mean by this "overdub" possibility? And why one cannot overdub in Step Mode of the sequencer?
And does anybody know if the Monologue supports sequencing of two or more completely different "preset sounds" or Programs in one and the same sequence? Like a bass (drum) "four on the floor" with a hihat (i.e. white noise) or snare drum in between? I know that you can alter some of the steps to sound (completely) different by recording the movement of knobs and switches (up to four of those). But can you also record two different "Programs" in one sequence? That would still make the Monologue monophonic, but it would need the sequencer to not only respect standard knob movements but also to respect dialling of the "Program/Value" knob. And that, in turn, would mean that one can use the Monologue as an "almost" drum machine.

Its just your impression, overdub does not automatically mean polyphony is required/available. In my DAW i usually use overdub set to replace a previous take, not add to it.
Your second question is asking if the Monologue is bi-timbral, which like the Minilogue it certainly isn't. In comparison, MicroKORG and MicroKORG XL+ are bi-timbral.
