Studio monitors mid or near
Just curiosity hitting me. I see some near field monitors but also higher end midfield monitors. Anyone actually using the midfield? Do you like them any perceived advantages?

Headphones/earphones still probably provide the sound experience least coloured by room, or device resonances.

Odd really anymore my KRK almost never get used. I either use the DT880 or my QSC K10. The KRK always made my ears ache after a few hours. I never figured out why. I just assumed it was because with the QSC they are positioned ten or more feet from me but the KRK are less then three feet away. The KRK never bothered me when I just has some music playing and I was across the room but they were not the best for that purpose.
