Hi Schmooster,

Your comment triggers me to say a few things. First, I have no connection to Korg whatsoever, and if you would know me personally, you would know that I am severely critical person - not really the bow-down-type-of-guy, but always with the constructive intention to make an organisation or product better.

I play keyboards since 45 years (I'm 53), and I can tell you the Kronos is the first keyboard in a long series I have owned that had so many updates, still are 5 years. Typical for the previous keyboards I've owned, typically 2-3 updates were made but after 2-3 years it's over. I could name examples, but I won't.

Sure, an update fixes a few things and -luckily - in the case of Kronos - introduces new functionality. Sure they test, but it's always possible that there are still bugs left or new ones are introduced. Nobody is perfect.

It's obviously you have some issues. I hope they are or will be solved.

Anyway, this is NOT a big issue (or is it?) but someone should let Korg know that they forgot to include the p.d.f. of the "KRONOS_Update_and_Restore" document in their latest update zip file. I'm sure it was just an oversight.

Just sayin'.
Wot ?

A dedicated Kronos owner would have the steps memorized

;)
I am NEW to the Kronos, in case you hadn't read any of my other posts, which you probably haven't, but yes, I already had the steps memorized from the last update I did. My post was for the benefit of people who may have JUST bought theirs more recently than I did. But give me six months with this machine and I'll be willing to bet you I can give YOU advice on what to do when you get stuck. :D
I am, literally, a BRAND NEW Kronos owner (just got my Kronos 2 88 last night). I suppose there are videos to show how to do this update, as even a new board doesn't have this, I'm sure. Is there a good place to go to see the process, spoon fed for us BRAND newbies?

Make sure you update your subsystem to the latest update. I was having issues after I updated my Kronos X to the latest version and had problems with my combinations. The programs in the combis were all messed up so I updated the subsystem and it somehow fixed my issue.

Everytime I started my Kronos I had to reload my preload.pcg in order to get the combis corrected but after the subsystem update it works fine now.

Explain that one!!!!

How old is your unit? I bought a brand new Kronos 2 88-key Platinum Edition, and wasn't required to update the sub-system. From the reading I've been doing on here, it's only the older units that require the subsystem updates. I haven't had any of these issues, and it feels like if I tried to 'update' the subsystem on mine, I'd probably end up screwing something up.
