Festival season in the Seattle area

This year should be a good one.

Besides the regular Bumbershoot and Northwest Folklife festivals, there are also Paul Allen's Upstream festival, and SeaProg.

Not too sure about the breakout sessions and summit at Upstream. The idea of asking struggling musicians to spend a few hundred to hear people saying that they're doing marketing badly doesn't seem like a real winner, but I assume Allen knows what he's doing.

Something for everyone, anyway. Bumbershoot for the basic rock and rap diet, more poppy stuff at Upstream, more rootsy stuff at Folklife, and the weirder genre-breakers at Seaprog.
