When Creating a Combi How Do I Keep Controller Assignments?

Post by K is for Kronos »

Hi,

I am trying to create a few basic combis using the organs from the Organimation and one other sound such as a piano or EP. I am placing the organ patch channel 1 and using all effects. Then I am copying the piano into channel (timbre 2) and using the all used setting. I want the switches, knobs and buttons on the Kronos to act as they would with just the organ, but it seems that they default to the piano patche's controller assignments. How can I set this to use the assignments from timbre 1?

Thanks, Bill

Perilous,

Thanks for the video link. I actually stumbled on this after posting by pressing buttons and exploring on the Control Surface tabs. The video did help to clarify what I did. Now if I can figure out the best approach to maintaining effects when combining patches in Combi mode. This is especially true with Organimation being so effect hungry. Master and Total efx are also a mystery how to merge.

Thanks again,
Bill

You can use the “copy from program” function to do this.

Go to combi mode and pick a blank combi
Choose program select/mixer arrow on top right
choose copy from program
choose the program you want & add the FX. You can also add KARMA & the drum track if you like
Choose Timb1

Then you can add additional programs to the combis as you like. It’s gets tricky when you want to add effects or controls to the new parts since the original program might have used up most or all of the insert effects. So you might have to route the FX that are set up for the organ program to the additional parts. That might or might not work depending on what you want to do.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!
