Assigning a sound to a key...

Post by Badchev »

Is there a way to assign a sound from a drum kit to a desired key, for example,.... I want to assign Drums E079 "low bit kit" key D#6 to C7. in one of my song combi patch's...

Thanks

It can be done by selecting a key zone for the drum sound timbre (i.e. Program) in the Combi. Not sure from the question whether just the drum sound for a single key D#6 is to be played using key C7, or whether the whole range of drum kit sounds from D#6 to C7 are to be played. The same principles apply to both, but if it's the first option, i.e. playing a single drum sound, then in Combi P4 page set the zone for the drum Program or timbre to just key C7 (i.e. Top Key and Bottom Key are both set to C7), then in Combi P3 page adjust the pitch using Transpose so that the sound triggered originally by key C#6 is now triggered by key C7. Adjust the keyboard zones for the other Programs so they are only triggered by key C7 if needed.
