Hi, I forgot my sustain pedal at a gig somewhere and decided to buy a M-audio sustain pedal at the nearest music shop.
However when I connect it to the SV-1, it won't work. I tried both polarities (the pedal has a switch).
Does the SV-1 work with other brand/make sustain pedals or only with the DS2-H pedal it ships with?
Many thanks for helping,
Gil
Does Sv-1 work with other brand sustain pedals?

It may be that the M-audio pedal has a fault. If you have a multimeter, check the resistance between tip and sleeve of the pedal's 1/4" jack with the pedal in the up and down positions. The resistance should change between open circuit and low resistance when the pedal is operated. Which way round will depend on the position of the polarity switch.

Have you tried calibrating the Damper function on the SV-1 to work with your new pedalgilianamsterdam wrote:

The procedure is on Page 31 of your user manual
The SV1 will work with any sustain pedal, the one included in the box is Korgs own half damper type, and so the SV1 is factory shipped to work with this particular model out of the box.
Any other brand/Type needs to be calibrated first once plugged in to work with the SV1 correctly.

Here's the instruction:

It's the easiest way to use third-party half-damping pedals with SV-1.
