Karma in sequencer on one track..second doesnt play

Post by playboy354 »

How do I use a Karma arp pattern on one track in sequencer mode yet still play and record a second track without karma to make song?

Some programs/sounds won't play when karma is on and even if they do I don't want to use an arp pattern for every track.

Also, as a side note, why do the Kronos programs sound fuller, more depth, better when using Karma but weaker without Karma on??

Karma page has a tab for "GE setup/Key Zones",there you will see "Midi I/O" section. Thats where you set up which midi channels will be assigned to which Karma Module.
Then you go to your tracks and set the middi channels of the intended track to match the output channel you set in Midi I/O page for the intended karma module.
Midi I/O has inout side and output side. For internal kronso program sounds, your input channels will always be whatever your global channel is set to in Global mode, no matter what track you want Karma to output on. Then the output side can be whatever channel you want but that channel has to be the same midi channel you set your track to if you want Krama to output on that track.
Also in the "Karma GE setup/Key Zones" page, you will find "Thru in/out Z" settings which let your played notes come through or only Karma played notes come through or both.

No tracks will have karma on them if you do not set the tracks to a midi channel away from global or to a midi channel used in Karma Midi I/O for the output side.

Also Karma Module zoning can zone out Karma GE interfernece in cases where you need to have the same Karma midi output channel set to a track that is not intended for Karma performance. Track Zoning will still apply to your playing of the notes but Karma GE setup/Key zoning will only apply to what arp patterns karma puts out. You may have some contradictions to this for what comes through with Karma zoning versus track zoning, based on how
"Thru in/out Z" is applied, but i cannot be sure without Kronos here to explore on. Just keep in mind Thru in/ou Z settings in case you run into hangups working with zoning in Karma and in the tracks.

Use the global midi channel for all your tracks you want to play and record without Karma and then use the global channel for karma midi input while seting the karma midi output to any of the other channels, 1 to 16 minus whichever is the global channel.
