korg pa4x disk size

Post by jpires »

Hello
I know that Pa4x 61 doesn't come with hard drive,
my question is: when I save my Sequencers it says disk. what kind of disk is it?
Thanks

It is a tiny internal 1GB disk (SSD I think)

So, on the 61, you have "DISK", "SD" and USB as your disk options (and of course a HDD if you buy the installation kit and a HDD)

Cheers

With my Pa3x I swapped out my tiny Korg supplied internal USB pen drive (around 2gb I think) to a more respectable 32 gb and its works fine and I haven't looked back.
But please don't do this on your precious Pa4x - I don't want to be responsible for any damage!
It is hot-glued in and I needed to melt the glue with a heated piece of wire and its a delicate operation. Also as far as I can recall I think I had to load the OS system reset. This may not work for the 4x.

KORG DISK is a 960 Mb size utility part of motherboard Nand Flash memory , its common for any Pa4x keybed
model that you can't alter/expand , unlike USB 4GB flash drive of Pa3X 61 series !
The only that changes in any Pa4X when a HD/SSD is connected is the appearance of HD in media browser menu.
The use of a fast USB stick is the best option for Pa4X 61 users.

Hope this helps
