New Kronos on the horizon?
Hey folks,
I've been looking for a replacement Kronos and everyone inckuding local music stores, guitar center and Sweetwater have none in stock. Makes me think Korg is coming out with a new model? Wondering if I should hold off... Thoughts? Thanks

No word yet. Lots of speculation. Some here say there is nothing due, and there are some rumors via Music Stores that one person shared but nothing solid.
As far as inventory I have noticed stores don’t keep the stock they used too. Usually getting something nowadays such as a keyboard involves a waiting period. But let’s hope for a new Workstation or maybe an OS update with some new features. NAMM 2018 is coming....
BTW I clicked on your link for your music and it sounds really good. All your writing? You’re very talented!

you could say + 6 yrs.hag01 wrote:I'm crossing my fingers for a new Kronos in the near NAMM.
I don't want to buy an instrument that was released 3 years ago!
My 2011 Kronos sounds identical to the K2. My only investment was to buy the $199 " New " Sound Pack which is currently $249. To be picky, some out of pocket for more RAM and larger or 2nd SSD.
All these differences are well documented on this forum.

Maybe because Kronos is one of the top selling keyboards...
Check out the newest keyboards.... the "old" Kronos is in the same level of today's flagships. If Kronos can get the job done to major artists and numerous musicians around the world, it will fulfill the musical needs of any user of this forum. Grounded wishlists are ok, complains are needless. Enjoy and get the most out of the amazing musical instrument that Kronos is.

Yes instrument not a mobile phone it seems that new trend is emerging to buy newest instrument just because not for extra features and apologies to you guys there who know Kronos inside out but most of people who own them use only fraction of Kronos abilities so saying that I need more is true for some but more than enough for most of us.hag01 wrote:I'm crossing my fingers for a new Kronos in the near NAMM.

I don't know what Korg is planning
I hope they don't make the same mistake yamaha did with montage removing the midi seq.

People complain for that

This is quite a statement from the marketing VP:KK wrote:Maybe the PS-3300X (yep, that makes 8 characters) with twice as much buttons and power as its predecessor.
" goes on to say that it will “blow people’s minds” and it’s “full of engineering craziness” and is a “whole new area” and so is not replacing the existing synthesizer products. “It is new, it is SO new… totally familiar and then what?”
I know Korg is an innovative and creative co. It should be fun to see what they have here.
Only speculating here but i think it's time. 6 years of kronos frenzy have been amazing but i think they're gonna drop the magic ball in NAMM.
Thinking out loud here so nevermind me:)
