Advantages of the 700 over the 600

Post by HammonDude »

I am in the market for a 6 or 700. My main concern is the quality of the sounds, would I be missing much on the 600? Any opinions matter to me, thank you in advance.

I don't thin you will lose that much if you choose 600, but something you will lose for sure. I think the drums are better in 700, but many other sounds are too.

Where you will lose for sure are the new features, more memory, more effects, more sounds, better performance, etc.

You are the only one to decide.

If I were you, no doubt I'd choose Pa700.

430 dollar difference. Makes me sick, but I think you are right. The bad taste of a poor choice lasts longer than the bitterness of paying more for something clearly better!

You actually said it much better yourself than I could do it! :) Go for it!

Test them both out if you can, then decide.

I was considering the 600 then the 700 was announced and after hearing both I am delighted I went with the 700.

I own a Krome and a PA600 and the minute the 700 and 1000 were announced and I read the specs of the new models there was no doubt in my mind that I had to have one. Now that my 700 is actually here my 600 was passed down to my son and while he inherits a killer rig I aquired one that can swallow it whole. This is no minor update to the PA line...Korg really pulled out all the stops IMO and added serious value to make it worth the upgrade.

Does it cost more than a 600? Sure does. Do you get more for your buck? Absolutely. I have friends that piss and moan that Korgs cost too much but I don’t see where Yamaha is exactly giving theirs away. The price points are very similar and I’ve never left a Guitar Center after trying both with anything but a Korg. You get what you pay for in this game and if anyones goal is cheap I usually point them to the Casio website.

If you are buying as a first timer and on the fence over a 600 vs 700 and letting that $430 difference be the deciding factor, you are about to take home $430 dollars worth of regret.

Pa700 definitely has better drums, and guitars

The other sounds are also better but not as noticeable: sax, trumpet, flute, synths

Also the screen and buttons are much better on 700

I'm sure there are other things just all I thought of off the top of my head
