So, this new "VAILAR OS" is for real or just a fake news?

If the Flash memory is 1 Gb (2 Gb compressed) then why did they compress the 400 Mb to give us 800 Mb? Why not just change the capacity to 800 Mb?

I suspect the latter Pete, as the RAM is probably surface mount (IE permanent and non-removable)

All signs indicate that it's real. The MG team has already confirmed it.
Now will KORG USA stand by as KORG PA4X MG EDITION get's a new OS and we get nothing?

It is indeed real as my brand new Pa4X came pre-installed with the VAILAR update. However I can not know what is new

The Vailar is an Analog Emulator proprietary to Music Gear as well as the Quick Select.

Fake news just as Antony said. Hardware interface is too slow to stream and the physical memory is not upgradeable. If you want more, get a Kronos.

They did it in MG series without new hardware. İt is possible by coding software. pa4x ram's can compress 400 +400. if it compreses 400, it can donit more as overlock method in computers. in neear future it will come true, because no alternative way for korg to reach more customers.

It is not fake news, I use the Pa4X MG Edition II. The keyboards are made by Korg Italy for Music Gear (Korg Lebanon). the main additional features are as follows:
- Quick Select (proprietary to Music Gear)
- Vailar Analog Emulator (proprietary to Music Gear)
- Arabic scale
- Style: 3 intro + 4 fill + break + 6 variation + ending
- 2GB RAM (1.5GB for Music Gear Samples + 400MB user accessible) so it basically handles 3 sets (Factory, User and Direct) without exhausting the RAM
- Additonal features to the Maxx Audio profiles

Just FYI

No Pa4X model got the 2 GB user samples streaming finally !!!
- Pa4X International = 5,1 Gb internal Rom (streaming mode) plus 400 Mb RAM space (non streaming) for User's samples.
- Pa4X MG Edition = also 5,1 Gb of international + MG Rom resources in localized flash Rom preserved area in streaming mode
plus the same 400 Mb RAM space (non streaming) for User's samples !

Therefore this means that we won't see finally the "silently" promised 2 Gb user samples streaming in Pa4X & Pa1000 as I strongly expected ...
It seems that they had faced serious hardware issues in applying this ... sorry for misleading you in the past !
