HPF-LPF effects in KAOSS
this is something that maybe i'm the only one who wants - On assignable faders to have some Master-Effects if you like, in realtime - like hpf, delay, gate, white noise...

And for interface, maybe some themes

We know that a songbook entry will allow you to over-ride the volume settings in a style, but how about letting it also over-ride voluem settings in a midi file?

Many times I have wanted/needed to temporarily suspend (or mute ie 0 volume) a midi track - but I have to go through the whole process i=of opening the sequencer editing the file saving the file, then loading that corrected file as the songbook entry, re-save the sb entry. And then try to remember to reverse the whole process later.

So yeah, some way of a SB entry being able to temporarily over-ride MIDI file settings would eb handy I reckon.

Hi,

First of all, thank you everybody for the precious hints sent in this and other threads.

However, it is to be considered that hardware additions (like backlit buttons, more RAM, more FXs, more polyphony, or audio tracks in the sequencer) cannot be implemented in an existing instrument. At least, not with an OS upgrade.

This kind of suggestions can be considered for a future product (but no warranty given!). Therefore, it would be more useful to separate them from the OS hints thread, and collected them into a separate thread, dedicated to a Pa4X’s successor.

Thanks Paolo for all of your input, and thanks to Pete for restructuring these threads.

A7: This is not what I mean. I know that the active KBD Set is visible, but I would like to see all 4 STSs, like in Style play mode, so that you can switch quickly during recording.
Now I need to write the 4 STS on a piece of paper or remember them. It would also be great if you could just hit the Record button with the Style play screen still being active.
Now that would be really Quick Record.

Here are my advanced suggestions to Korg developers concerning mostly Sound editor and DNC features :
- Every OSC Amp Level (0-127) needs an extra AMS send with ±100 intensity control to all CC# controllers including 8 Sliders & Pedals.
This will provide the option to create custom drawbar organs and the ability of real time synth modeling via OSC assigned to sliders that is absent
from PaSeries , note that the existing OSC modulation Amp AMS there , is improper for that purpose.
- Generally in sound editor every AMS function should had CC# send option to all Sliders.
- You have to develope the outdated "Korg" portamento function , that works fine for analog synth modeling , but completely improper
for a sampler and the reason is the way that portamento function works since destination note should be pitch-shifted and not the
starting one ! which makes a high-end sampled instrument to be heard as completely fake !
- DNC improvements must be also applied in the portamento associated "legato" mode notes orientation.
Legato Up/down can be easily set at neighbour notes , but main "legato" function needs further orientation area and not the whole keybed area that
creates artifacts with portamento and polyphony and at least 3-4 extra legato detections for controlling real glissando samples like 3rd,4th,5th,6th
and 7th native articulations of acoustic instruments that sound developers like me , would like to create for extra acoustic intrument realism.
- DNC "Round" function must be oriented as an overriden function by other controllers like legato in order to emulate properly an
acoustic string instrument and when legato is detected , any "Round" must be cancelled.
- DNC "Round" feature must be urgently added in DK samples editor , Yamaha has already done it and has also added 12 velocity
layers for drum elements.

Other important suggestions
- Recall the discontinued KBD Set individual preferences feature that it was a great asset in PaSeries in real time performing , especially the
velocity to Fill missing option !
- Extra Sound positions or extra Sound banks must be added.

And how about being able to set an MP3 volume on a song by song basis...we all knwo that even with the msot carfeul mixing/balancing, some songs just seem to be louder!

And while we are at it, it's about time we could play an MP3 at the same time as a style doncha think?
