Moog One

Post by RKfan »

Been resisting all day. But let the speculation begin (Summer NaMM any one)?

https://www.gearnews.com/are-moog-about ... -moog-one/

http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2018/ ... nth-story/

If true - Wow - but quite expensive.

I guess they couldn't call it Rogue One

I'll wait for Uli's clone

But honestly... nope, no interest.

Moog One, this is Tranquility Base, the mother boards have landed. 😍😂😎Great Scott, now these pictures of the boards inside the Moog One are showing up on all kinds of sites. We especially like the "ALL SYNTHS" and "CHORD ON" buttons along with "MONO" and "UNISON"

Sooooooooo about a year ago we noticed that Moog had invited Dave Smith for an award at Moogfest, well according to folks we talked to today, that might have led to Dave being also asked to participate in the creation of a new generation of a PolyMoog.

Then the plot thickens and it seems Deep Throat was a Sweetwater Rep

Only thing that has us raising an eyebrow is the cost seems weird, 5,999 for 8 voices and 7,999 for 16 voice, why not 11,998 for 16, strange.

What we believed to be a "LEAKED MISPRINT" says Moog One has a Stave Variable filter instead of a State Variable filter, maybe Dave and Moog just invented something new.

Right? But this time, patents are still active and for some time to come, we think Uli will have to pass on this one

The $2000 price difference is almost certainly just for the additional 8 voices that are (probably) on an expansion card that just pops onto the main board.

BTW, I was joking about the Uli clone  but I'm genuinely so over the Analogue revival now - I want to see something truly groundbreaking, and until then I'm more than happy to stick with the Kronos.

Copyright doesn't cover schematics which is how Uli is getting away with copying everything. Also patents don't last for long and it's rather had to prove a circuit has been copied even when it's plain as day it's a copy when you analyse what the circuit is doing.

BUT, here's the big reason to boycott Behringer, Uli tried to sue Gearsluts and Dave Smith for saying they don't like what he is doing with all these clones and stating they find Behringer products poorly made. The guy didn't like that people don't like him or his company, so he started crying and tried to sue them! Talk about double standards?!?!?!
Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here

So Part 13: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH8mjRJkvXc

talks about monotimbral polyphonic analogue synthesis - as being limited - guess he's building up to mutitimbral polyphonic... Which might of course lead to the Moog One concept - maybe?
