Transferring songs from a d3200 to a d32xd

Post by BAR Recordings »

Hi all, I'm new here but having owned a d1200, d1600, d3200 and now a d32xd I'm quite familiair with the D-series and I love how they work and sound.

Since I still have my d3200 with a few songs on it (these songs need some additional recording and no mixing has been done).

I want to know if (and how :)) it's possible to transfer the entire song (all tracks and preferrably all settings) from the d3200 to the d32xd.

Thanks!

Based on the D32xd/D16xd software version 2.0 release notes, backed up song data from the D12, D16, D1200, D1600, D1200mkII, and D1600mkII can be restored into the D32xd, but the D3200 is not mentioned, for some reason. [The software release version 2.0 notes are dated 2004, whilst the D3200 user manual is dated 2005]. There's probably no harm in trying to import a D3200 backup into the D32xd, though, and posting the results on this forum. At the very least, the song data on the D32 can be exported as WAV files, and these files then imported into the D32xd.

Unfortunately, the data is not compatible. I backed up a song and loaded it in the pc-drive of the d32xd but when I want te restore it , it simply doesnt't recognize the file. I'm afraid I will have to use the wav-way which will be so much more time consuming.
