PA1000 piano sounds are horrible over PA system

Post by Sequencepro »

My PA1000’s piano sounds SUCK on a PA! I’ve tried various PA’s, Mono & Stereo. Organ, Electric Piano, Horns, etc. sound fine, as do my Roland pianos.
Someone on another Keyboard Forum told me that a “John, AKA Rueben?” On this site has some much better piano sounds available...? Please someone help me. I bought this PA1000 for some of it’s awesome features, but I cringe every time I hear those God-awful toy piano sounds!

Have you tried changing the eq settings on your pa1000 ? You will need different settings for a pa system and internal speakers.

I have the 700 where it is section VII of the manual the describes how to customise the individual Sounds.

The descriptions of what and how to do the tweaks covers quite a few pages.

Good luck

What about the harmonizer quality on Pa1000??. I have a Pa3XLe and the TC-Helicon is not good with a lot of issues. Notice the voice artifacts on the video a song recorded at maximal mp3 quality.

This happens when "TC-Helicon is on" like a DSP overloading issue.

The chord arranging sequence runs flawlessly only the voice is affected meaning that the mp3 codec is not the issue.

The question is if Pa1000 have a better TC-Helicon quality because the mainboard seems to be the same on all models from Pa600 to Pa4X.

Maybe the problem is the low quality (not really tc-helicon) algos and not the mp3 recording. Try to do a recording on pc with a soundcard without using the built in mp3 recording function and you will see that the quality will be the same most probably...
The fact that the cpuboard is almost the same (some parts differ) doesn't mean anything about the sound quality...Also the DSP is not overloaded ,especially on pa3xle as pa700/1000 except from the pa4x engine with streaming etc, runs 6 extra effects (3insert on styles/kbd sets and 3 on guitar input) flawlessly!!! (leaft outside pa4x as it has the tc-helicon dsp although it does nothing when harmonizer/vocal efx are off)
