Free SalamanderV3 Yamaha C5 Grand Piano for Kronos

Post by AntonySharmman »

3 years after providing free Upright Grand Piano , I decided to devote some hours to convert and arrange the well known
SalamanderV3 grand piano for Kronos and forum members as an alternative free Grand Piano and Christmas gift , that
might deserves your attention.

Features
This 24bit piano consists of 16 Stereo Velocity layers , sampled per 3 semitones with max. samples duration limited to 25 seconds.
- The required HD space is 1,12 Gb / 19 MS / over 1100 samples / 63 Mb Ram space without Preload.KSC
- 3 Velocity layers of piano harmonics & Release
- All Piano natural FX
- Yamaha C5.KSC is working in streaming mode and will consume less than 60Mb of Ram space.
- Complete advanced piano modeling can be found at 2 Combination sounds of 16 & 14 Velocity layers.
- Only one Program "Yamaha C5 Grand" is suitable for Sequencer or standalone use.
- Velocity sensitivity has been arranged mainly for 73/88 Kronos keybed.
It might takes a further personal customization that is up to your tastes !

Loading Instructions
- Click HERE to download compressed file (instructions are included)
- UnRar/decompress file "here"
- Copy extracted folder "Salamander Yamaha C5" in Kronos SSD
- Save your existing settings (PCG)
- Load Yamaha C5.PCG (This will load Program Bank U_GG , COMBI U_G and WS U_GG)
- Add Yamaha C5.KSC in Auto-Load menu and press "Auto Load Now"
- Done

Have fun

Great!

Do you have sound demonstration?

What's different about this from the post to this one?

Anthony, I have some questions. I'm not sure if I did this right.

Ok, so I copied the extracted folder to the SSD drive. On this particular Kronos I don't have ANY customized user settings. It has the latest updated OS.

On the LOAD YAMAHA C5 PCG, I check the box for C5 KSC too. PCG contents is set to ALL. I load the content. I'm not sure about 'Auto Load' option. Is that another step?

Now I have a Yamaha C5 program and a combi. The combi is the one that you would use to play for the full experience?

Also, 2 things happens. My factory sounds no longer work. I shut it down and turned it back on...it's back to normal again.

I'm sure I didn't do this right.

Sam , after copying folder in Kronos SSD , you open piano folder and you load PCG file this will load only Program bank U_GG
and Combi U_G , so it does not disturb factory or any other Bank !
That you did was : You loaded .KSC file manually in "clear all" mode and you just unloaded all other resources !
To avoid manual loading in Append mode every time , goto Global/Auto-Load , click on add button , browse SSD , open Piano
folder and click on Yamaha C5.KSC and select add.
Then click "auto-load now" button or restart !
Complete piano development is only on COMBI U_G / 2 first sounds!
