Yamaha Motif Ballad Key for Kronos.

Post by kaptainkeyboard »

Please see attached dropbox link to my Motif XF7 Ballad Key Prog.
This was sampled using MainStage Auto Sampler and converted to Kronos speak via Translator 6.
It has 4 velocity layers and is around 75meg.
Please use the separate "Motif Ballad Keys UG126.PCG" to find the Prog.
I hope it can be of some use to somebody...enjoy.

PS. You might want to adjust the Velocity Sensitivity via AMP/EQ - Amp1 Mod - Velocity Intensity - a value of 80 may give you more control.

Motif XF7 Full Concert Grand.

Post by kaptainkeyboard »

This is the Motif XF7 Full Concert Grand Prog.
It has Damper Resonance on OSC2 - you can set your own levels on the OSC/Pitch - OSC2 Basic page.
This is a download of around 324meg.

Please use the separate "Full Concert Grand UG125.PCG" to find the Prog.

You're welcome Pedja.
I haven't been on the forum for a couple of years and thought I would upload a couple of my Motif Piano sample sets for forum members.
PS. You might want to experiment with the Damper resonance samples in OSC2 of the Full Concert Grand, they are quite interesting on their own.

Kaptain, thanks for making the Motif piano available for the Kronos. I recently downloaded and installed an S90 piano thanks to Motif owner Cedric.

I don't know is it possible to me, to experiment with damper resonance? I have Kronos X with SGX-1, and I don't have libraries made for Kronos 2? Maybe I making mistake, maybe it is possible with your sample libraries?

Hi Pedja, I also have the Kronos X, however the Damper Resonance samples do not rely on SGX-1 - these are samples which will load into OSC2 if you load the program into your Kronos.
I have the "Note on Control" in OSC2 set to MODE>Key+Damper, however if you wish to experiment you could copy OSC2 to another employ Prog and set the "Note on Control" to MODE>Key.

If you do not want to load my Piano, check out Prog I-B000.
This has "Pedal Damper" samples from the EXs1 ROM in OSC2.
You could copy OSC2 to another employ Prog and set the "Note on Control" to MODE>Key.
This has 1 velocity layer (I believe) - mine has 3 Velocity layers in stereo.
I hope this helps

This is the Dropbox link to my Yamaha CP70 Electric Grand.
I have included a separate PCG file UG116.
The lower samples are slightly out of tune and I can't be arsed retuning them, however some of you may like the vintage sound.
There are 4 velocity layers in this piano and is around 244meg.

OK folks, just noticed my Dropbox is fast running out of free space.
If you like the look of anything I've posted thus far, please download.
If you come across this post at a later date and the links are dead, perhaps one of the members could host them (a wee credit to me would be great), or PM me and if I have space I will send you a link.

Thanks Stoffel.
I'll keep the post links open for a short while, otherwise you know where to find them.
The Progs are very basic in all of the above posts, however, if you Pro guys out there come up with some cool alternative PCG's...please share.

PS. Stoffel has rearranged the PCG to UG000<...I'm afraid I had a senior moment and set the Progs at the end of the bank...

Hello Kaptain,
I did a direct download from your Dropbox which resulted in a ZIP file on my Mac, it shows a size of 188MB. I unzipped it and have these files:

Folder named "full concert grand ms"
Full Concert Grand UG125.PCG
Full Concert Grand MS.KSC
Full Concert Grand.KSC
Full Concert Grand.PCG

Can anyone kindly help me and explain how to install this on my Kronos (once I copy the files to my USB stick)? Thank you so much. I just recently purchased my Kronos so I'm still learning a few ins and outs. I have the original Kronos 61 w/ v 3.1.3 OS installed, 3G RAM and 2 SSDs.

Thanks in advance

It’s always best practice to format your stick drive on the Kronos (FAT32)

Press DISK button.
Drive Select > Your stick Drive.
Highlight “Full Concert Grand” folder.
Press “Open”.
Highlight “Full Concert Grand MS.KSC”
Press “Load”.
Press “Clear All” - it will turn red.
Press “OK”
The samples will load into RAM.

Press “Drive Select” and choose your 2nd internal Drive (or your primary internal drive - I prefer to save sample stuff to my 2nd drive)
Press the “Save” tab.
At the top right of the screen press the arrow.
Press “Save Sampling Data”
To - “T” - You can rename it - I just deleted the MS bit to Full Concert Grand
Include - “Sampling Mode Data” - it will turn red.
Sampling Mode Data Options - “All”
Press “OK”

Press “GLOBAL” button on your Kronos.
Press “KSC Auto-Load”
Press “Add KSC”
Press “Drive Select” and choose your 2nd internal Drive (or primary internal).
Highlight “Full Concert Grand_UserBank.KSC”
Press “Add”

Make suer the box at the left of “Full Concert Grand_UserBank.KSC” is RED.

Press “Do Auto-Load Now” - This will load everything highlighted in RED into your Kronos.
When you switch off your Kronos and turn it back on at a later time, the samples will always Load.

To Load the PROG - do this.
Press DISK.
Select your Stick Drive.
Open the Folder.
Highlight “Full Concert Drive UG125.PCG”
Press “Open” 3 times until you see a list of Progs.
Goto Prog 125 “Full Concert Grand” and highlight it.
Press “Load”
You can Load this “TO” another Location.
Press “OK”
And you”re done....

PS. - The Pro guys will have a simple PCG file with a single Program.
I kinda made an arse of this bit, but I'm an auld Scottish guy and I'm allowed.

All of the above looks way more complicated than it actually is.

This procedure is good for my other uploads.
