Electribe 2S controller + midi

Post by bobbyZ »

Hi guys, I would like to connect my Roland SE-02 to the E2S and controlling both devices with a Korg Taktile. Actually my connections are:

Roland SE02 MIDI IN to E2S MIDI OUT
Korg TAKTILE MIDI OUT to ES2 MIDI IN

Actually playing keys on the Taktile only plays the E2S internal sounds and the SE-02 (which I set on channel MIDI 1 in the ES2) doesn't sound at all. Probably I'm doing something wrong or it isn't possible doing what I'd want.
Thank you in advance for you help.

Electribe 2 does not have soft thru, you need to send MIDI from Taktile directly to both synths.

You could split the MIDI coming out of the Taktile and use a merger to combine the output of the e2s with the Taktile:

If you don't need the e2s to control the SE02, you can go without the merger and just control both synths from the Taktile.

If you use a computer in this setup you could connect the Taktile directly to the SE02 via 5-pin DIN, and connect the Taktile USB to the computer. Then connect e2s to the computer via USB:

Taktile <-> SE02
|
Computer <-> e2s

A Raspberry Pi can make a good unintrusive USB MIDI router.

(Sorry for the crap diagrams, the forum removes the extra whitespace).
