kaossilator pro+ as midi controller for mother32

I have kaossilator pro + that i'm trying to use to send midi clock signals to my mother 32, but the mother32 isn't showing any signs of receiving midi signals. I don't have any other midi devices to test this out with; I've tried changing the channel and everything but I'm unsure what other troubleshooting steps to take.

maybe try and see if the Mother32 is set to "local control OFF"
