Korg EC5 Foot Switch and Pa700 / Pa1000
Am I correct in thinking the Korg Ec5 Foot Switch is not compatable with the Pa700 / Pa1000 ?

If you watch the last webinar with Adam and Chris, there is mention of using an EC5, cannot remember the context I just remember having to Google it to see what it was.
BTW, I have suggested to Leigh that a webinar on MIDI would probably be useful and setting up and using an EC 5 was one of the questions that I posed.

It is great and has a lot more possibilities than the EC5.
That's great to hear! Not sure why Korg took away the EC5, but it sounds like the FCB1010 is even better (not exactly compact though).
Are there tutorials on programming it for the PA700/1000? What do you have the pedal sweeps and footswitches programmed to do? Do you have one of the 3d party EPROMs that have it pre-configured for some setups?
Myself I'd have overall volume on one pedal and possibly cutoff filter assigned to the other. Can you have multiple things assigned to one pedal or footswitch? Like for example, with the volume and cutoff filter, I'd want all 3 Upper voices affected at once.
Thanks,
Randy

You have all the information in this tutorial.
I have programmed several FCB1010 banks for different uses and I simultaneously control my PA1000 and my tc-helicon perform-VK.

BSafe,
Trying to get an idea of what I could do with a FCB 1010 with my PA 1000:
- Map the 4 Keyboard Sets associated with a Style to 4 footswitches?
- Map the 4 Style Variations to 4 footswitches?
- Able to map all Five Accompaniment tracks to a single sweep pedal?
- Map Drum or Perc or Bass to a sweep pedal?
- Map the start/stop button to a footswitch?
- Map the amount of vox FX (reverb and delay, not harmonizer) to sweep pedal?
- Map the Upper Voices to cutoff using the sweep pedal?
- In addition to the 1010, are you still able to use the built-in sweep pedal jack? That'd give you a total of 3, which is about right!
Have looked at the first 10 minutes of that video link you left. A bit intimidating but worth it if I can do the above. I like having at least two sweep pedals- I always need at least an overall volume pedal, which is what I use my Yamaha FC7 pedal for, but of course it's great to have sweep pedals for lots of other things, so a second one is de rigeur.
I'm surprised, given that they no longer give you the EC5 socket, that they only provide access to 1 sweep pedal and 1 damper/switch pedal jack. It's not enough for a board like this!!!

Randelph,
you will find a list of everything that can be managed in the PA1000 with the FCB1010 or any other midi control device in the 4 pages starting at 891 of the PA1000 user manual (v1.2).
And of course you can also use the 2 pedal inputs of the instrument.
If it's still not enough, you can even connect several FCB1010 with a midi merger.
Except for those who already have an EC5, I think this connection that has disappeared on the PA1000 is no longer of much interest.

Yeah, that's a case of 'you don't miss what you never had'. I passed on the Pa1000 for the very fact it lacked the EC5 socket.B.Safe wrote:Randelph,

I am doing it this way. Frees up the midi ports. But you need an iPhone/iPad app “midiflow”, Yamaha ud-bt01 plugged into device port. And Bluetooth pedal like Airturn bt200s-6. I created these 2 videos...
