SOFTWARE WISH-LIST for FUTURE PA models (OS only)

Some features that might be helpful when using the pa4x for composing.

For step recording a song:
- Being able to hear the actual chord being played on the keyboard.
- Being able to hear the chord when scrolling through events.
- When closing (saving) song (which is necessary to hear the actual edits) the "Start from measure X" for the sequencer isn't selected anymore and also measure number isn't remembered. Everytime you're into editing a part you have to set both.

For Quick recording a song:
- The possibility to do a punch-in at a sirten bar after a recording session has stopped.


For the Chord Sequencer:
- a setting to have it started by default instead of activate it manually for every style.
In this way copies of styles with different chord sequences can act like songparts. Something similar like the chordlooper in the new Yamaha OS for the Genos and PSR-SX900.

Maybe a feature to select different chord sequences while a style is playing (without being interupted) would be even more useful.. but selecting different styles with it's chord sequence running continuously could give the same results with just a small OS tweak.

Can we PLEASE have any form of DAW integration that isn't purely MIDI based so we can create styles/sounds with ease? Maybe some sort of bridging vst??

2- Fix bomb sound issue when you change keyboardset without release note keys

4- automatically import User Sound - DK ,, like Korg pa manager , so that will be usefaul to collecting our SET

6- KORG PA VST Or standalone software as style record/ edit tools , allow you to transfer/ edit your style directly in any daw / pc

How the SET List works

The SET List logic is not good. Only settings from the Songbook can be added to the SET List, and song settings cannot be saved directly to the SET List. Thus, all songs are duplicated, Songbook + SET List.
Another mistake is that you cannot save your settings to any location (1-10) in the SET List, just push it back and forth, but that's not enough!
If I want to save the settings of a song on a Sheet (1-10 banks) in SET LIst, eg: 1.Bank intro, 2.Bank Vers1, 3.Bank Refrain1 etc.,
then I can save the corresponding text (txt) of the song separately for Vers1, Refrain1, Vers2, Refrain2 etc.
In this way, each song is placed on a different LAP and there is no need to scroll through the text (txt). However, this would require LAPs to be given a unique name.

Some suggestions, shortcomings. I’ve written about these before, but I don’t know if the manufacturer or developer paid attention to it!
Up to a later OS version (v3.2.x, v3.3.x)

- Multi PAD synchronous start (as with YAMAHA)

- The numbering of the USER drum icons (DK1, DK2, DK3), as with the USER sounds, for easier orientation! All three only have DK!

- Assign at least 1 MIDI channel to an MP3 file to use midi commands

- Save BPM tempo for MP3 file in SongBook, BPM delay for save for microphone effects to follow the tempo of the song (or save manually)

In SongBook, Pa3x had a SELECT button to confirm entry selection. In the current OS of Pa4x, if I select another entry while playing, it immediately switches, which is confusing in many cases!

Some do have connections and most likely would be under the same NDA as any employee or contractor/developer.
...if they responded here then that would be either a breach of contract or a valid released announcement.

This is a public independent forum - no association with the Korg company - you should have no expectations from Korg here.

1) PIANO ROLL VIEW and timeline for Style and midi.

2) LOCK SCREEN (power and idle)

3) LOCK SET

4) NOTE EDITOR - or lyrics editor (write on screen)

5) Independent Ribbon controller - so you dont need to go to SOUND and edit sound and edit ribbon controller. You can control from menu if you want to use as pitch bender or edit pitch value or use as something else...

6) PROGRAMMABLE LOOPs for any style. for example we can pre record 4 loops and save in style memory, so we have ready loops for any style.

7) Record separately pa4x sound and Microphone sound.

Adjustable volume for metronome.

9) more studio effects for microphone

10) Style and Performance windows must be in different colors. Now they are different but it looks like same color.

11) 2 outputs for MP3, 1 main and 1 headphones to listen to next song before mixing.

12) Left hand dynamic for style. Control velocity of drums or all channels by left hand pressure. For example when the singer sings we can press softer to keys to have 10% less volume of style.

13) It would be good to have internet connection too or Wifi to listen any song on youtube or browsing. sometimes we need lyrics, so it would be helpful for singers who play keyboard.

14) 3 or more FX to right hand

15) more FX iserts

16) USB files window more simple like MS Windows folder view.

17) Show default tempo in style names. When we change styles while playing, it would be nice to see which tempo is default in the next style.

1 ability to use kaoss pad in style record mode

2 better gui for sound mode . 4x is very capable synth but not easy to learn
look at some vst soft synths layout .

3 better interface for step sequencer . make it look like a STEP SEQUENCER!!!
you know with lights that light up under the buttons and stuff.

4 ability to listen to the track during step record just like in style edit


5 ability to record expression changes in styles

6 midi gate effect (the delay is ok but its not the same)

7 ability to use an arranger track as an AMS for example to have my kicK track modulate my compressor (see SIDECHAIN COMPRESSOR!) or my REVERB/DELAY


8 more then just one insert effect per upper part in style play mode

It is unlikely that anyone at Korg will actually answer on our forums.
I know they do look at these wish-lists and potential bugs but they are under no obligation (or allowed in some cases) to make comments.

We can only be patient and wait for formal announcements.

HEY KORG PEOPLE!!!! ever heard of a vst plugin named Kickstart.

LFO TO MODULATE EXPRESSION AS A SEND EFFECT. SHOULD TAKE YOU 2 MINUTES TO DESIGN IT.

just check out the waveforms in the plugin cuz thats where its at
