brolly, Still no librarian.

Post by brolly »

Hi guys, i've been away for a bit so i thought i'd start a new thread.

Thanks to Padking for being so helpful and Dan at Korg i've just seen your post.
So the Librarian won't install on my Mac Coffee Grinder {10;14;6}, all i get is 'waiting for Device'
So i'm not running a firewall, i don't use android, i've tried a million different combinations and still nothing, all i get is 'waiting for device'. Both for the 1.04 updater and the librarian.

Saulo at Korg recommended i install everything on a separate computer, so i've just installed everything on my apple laptop and connected it up via usb and it works as sweet as a nut. Korg Wavestate updated to 1.04 and librarian alive and kicking.

Just did exactly the same on my main mac {mohave} and
'waiting for device'

So team awesome, lets see if we can get me up and running with the librarian.

The first thing i'd like to do is delete all the korg stuck off my mac so i can start again.
How do i do that?

Saulo asked me to do some stuff in terminal, as a non techie guy i found this terrifying but got through it, here are the results.

Saulo Valerio (Korg UK Ltd)

* To check if HoRNDIS is installed correctly, run the following command in Terminal:

kextstat | grep -v com.apple

This will list the loaded kext files, and should include:

com.korg.kexts.HoRNDIS (9.2)

Ran the command in Terminal and got this;

-kextstat: unrecognized option `-v'
Extra arguments starting at |....
usage: -kextstat [-a] [-k] [-l] [-b bundle_id] ...

Use -kextstat -help (-h) for a list of options.
usage: -kextstat [-a] [-k] [-l] [-b bundle_id] ...

Use -kextstat -help (-h) for a list of options.

Then i ran it inside shell because i have no idea what any of this means and it gave me this;

Hi Brolly, to bad your still stuck with that problem.
If you want to erase all the Korg stuff, do a search with find ( desktop/file,find) choose this mac, you should see everything. I was wondering do you log in as administrator on your mac ? (system preference/user&group).Even if you still have that #$#%&?%&*?*&(*) message ''waiting for device'' do you see your wavestate in system preference/network ?

Hi Padking, only i use the computer so i never log in, its just on and off.

So here are todays frustrating adventures.;

This is from the Joshuawise website that Saulo>Korg sent me .
Uninstalling
If, for some reason, you need to uninstall HoRNDIS, you can simply drag the extension to the trash.
In the Finder, go to the “Go” menu, and select “Go to folder...”; in that, type ”/System/Library/Extensions”. Find “HoRNDIS.kext”, and drag it to the trash. When prompted, type your password.

Do the same for the “HoRNDIS.kext” that lives in ”/Library/Extensions”, as well.
Then, restart your Mac to be sure it is unloaded.

So i did these instructions but there is no Horndis file in the first folder at all, but there is at the second location.....

Deleted all korg and Horndis stuff, emptied the trash, restarted.
Installed the Librarian software with system preferences open on the security>general page to watch for any prompts, none came up.
Restarted the computer,

‘waiting for device’

Deleted all the horndis stuff, installed the joshuwaise HorNDIS file,
this time security did ask me for a prompt but said Korg wanted permission . clicked that, restarted.

‘Waiting for Device’
There is still no HorNDIS.kext file in the first location.

Sorry Brolly, you have the same version of HoRNDIS as mine, you use the same OS version 10,14,6. Can you tell me if you see the wavestate in system pref/network (after installing HoRNDIS). By the way the will probably use the name HoRNDIS for the title of a horror movie, great monster name.

So today i was doing some studio housework, i no longer use my Novation zero SL controller so i deleted all the 'automap ' instances.
Noticed the wavestate was out of sync so thought even though the librarian doesn't work i'll need to update the mace software to 1.04 {managed to update the wavestate itself using a laptop.

restarted, double clicked librarian and the damn thing opened up perfectly.

God knows what's changed, was it the Novation, was it not sunny today, i have no idea but i now have a librarian, let the fun begin.

Huge thanks to Padking for being so patient.

brolly over and out ..........till the next time.
