Gadget 2 saved files gone and not able to export to iCloud

I have been using Gadget 2 on my ipad for several months and built up quite a few songs. I went to remix a song which I created a while back only to discover it was no longer there. It’s been saved enough times as I have made adjustments to it.

Does the Gadget have a limit to how many songs/projects you can store?

The other problem I have which I can’t seem to fix is to save the files to iCloud. The cloud icon next to the file is greyed out and I get a message that says

The file doesn’t exist.
File name couldn’t be moved to “Documents” because either the former doesn’t exist or the folder containing the latter doesn’t exist

I’ve reloading the app on another iPad and added a Documents folder in iCloud but get the same message.
