Korg Expansion Pack

Post by billsolo »

Hi all, Who out there has a Kronos X and purchased the Expansion pack to make the X a 2 version? Make it a Kronos 2 as far as lastest sample grands and other programs offered in the 2 version not in the X version. Please let me know how many files when unzipping the Expansion download? I only got 2. The KRS-07.PCG and the KRS-07KRONOSX.PCG.
It is my understanding that I need and EXs folder which has the correct PCG and KSC files to load onto the HD of the Kronos? Can anyone help or enlighten me on this?

It is necessary to download the EXs17 and EXs18 files from the Korg website. Go to:

https://shop.korg.com/kronos

Click on Learn More for the "New KRONOS Sound Pack", and download the two "demo" files. I believe these are the full versions, and should work once installed on the Kronos and authorized using the appropriate keys.

EXs17 is around 4.3GB and EXs18 is around 860MB. The User Manual that's included with the EXs17 and EXs18 zip fiiles gives details of the files and procedure necessary for installation of the expansion pack. When unzipped, EXs17 contains 8 files in 2 folders, whilst EXs18 has 4 files in 2 folders.

The KRS-07 files, downloaded from the separate link supplied by Korg after registration, are used to install the list of well known sounds that come with this pack.

If the above doesn't help you, post here again as I did the exact same thing with my Kronus X last week :)
