Korg Kross 88 - Won't power up

Hi, new here and I Just got a Korg Kross 88, because the owner said it quit powering on and he lost the power adapter. I asked him what was it doing b4 it stopped working. He stated the ac adapter input jack, that he had to keep wiggling it it was getting loose. it must of got loose then just stopped working. Well I nothiced it can run from 6 AA Alkaline or NIhM batteries, so I tried to power it up that way.. still a no go. I was wondering if its just the power input jack. wouldn't it still power up by batteries??

I only paid $25 dollars so its no huge loss especially if I can get it fixed fairly cheap.....

Anyone have "powering up" problems and have a suggestion to check

Not had any powering up issues, though it's worth checking to see if the loose power socket has torn, or is shorting any printed circuit tracks that might be carrying current from the battery.
