Please Help - TR-8 & Minilogue XD Issus

Really hoping someone can help me out please?

I have the midi out on the Tr-8 going to midi in on the Minilogue XD. Everything works in terms of it being in sync and triggering etc.

The issue i am facing, is when using the sequencer on the Minilogue XD, the TR-8 is interfering with the length of the notes being played. If i use one of the presets on the Minilogue XD it plays perfectly when the midi is unplugged, the second i plug the midi cable in, and the TR-8 is started, the sound of the pre-set changes instantly - almost like it changes the sound to an arpeggiator.

I have uploaded the sound file as an example - the first part is the pre-set playing perfectly until i hit start on the TR-8 and then it changes to the arpeggiator
