Kronos II 73 storage and transport in an vertical position
Does anyone know if the Korg Kronos II 73 can be stored and transported in an vertical position in a transport case? Doesn't it damage the keybed?
Which axis is going to be vertical? The long axis, or the front to back axis? Provided the Kronos is packed nice and snugly, and the keys aren't stressed, and the transport case cannot fall over, it should be OK. It all depends on how it's handled and the g-forces it experiences en route. With gentle handling and air ride suspension it'll be fine. I've seen Kronii in airports propped, long axis upwards, against other instruments. Their owners seemed fine with that.

Long term storage, either horizontal (as in normal play), on its back (i.e. keyboard uppermost), or with an end cheek downmost, should not cause any problems. The storage conditions are probably the most important factor. Constant temp and low humidity, and away from air pollution, would be the ideal factors to aim for, if possible, and try to keep tiny critters from gaining access to the board.
