Pa4X. Score page.

Post by griffin2003 »

Hello all. Need some help. I have recorded an MP3 song and am trying to show the score chords & notes. I push song play and indicate the song then push the score button but don't see any indication for that song. Am I doing something wrong? Any help appreciated, Thanx 8)

I think you will find that score only works with midi files - see p96 of User Manual (OS 2.2.1)
Korg Pa4X (OS NEXT 3.1.0)
Bose L1M2 speaker system
Yamaha BT midi interface
Songbook+ app for iPad
Cubase13 Pro DAW software
Dorico Elements 5 scoring software
Band-in-a-Box 2024
Yamaha CVP-309GP

How to create a MIDI file which includes both Lyrics and Cho

Post by manouchehrmail »

Hi everyone,

in page 100 of the Korg PA4X user manual there is a very nice screenshot of the score view of a track with both lyrics and chords along with the notes of the selected track.
The question is a standard Midi song does not have lyrics and chords information. How to add those information to the midi file so that we get the same view as shown on page 100?
I googled it a lot but it seems there is not much information about how to add lyrics and chord abbreviation texts to a midi file.
Any ideas?

Best Regards,
Manou

I think you didn't search with the right search terms, because there is enough software to be found for that.

It is easy to add lyrics with freeware PSRUTI and to insert MIDI chords automatically with same freeware (https://psrtutorial.com/music/articles/lyrics.html)
kind regards

Hello,

thank you so much for your reply. Actually I had seen the "PSRUTI" in internet but I never tested it myself. What I wrote before was according to this video tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPLddi-uYzI

I thought it only works for Yamaha. I will give it a try to see if it works for Korg PA as well.
I will update this post as soon as I have the results.
Thank you so much.

Hi Manou,

PSRUTI handles Yamaha XG data well, but what you need can be done for Korga. GM is the standard for all keyboard.
This video shows how to insert chords into a song.
https://youtu.be/nwx-rNBGZS0

This is how you insert text in MIDI and this can only be done with the latest version of PSRUTI.
https://youtu.be/kXDOg5PqQJ8
Previous versions did not have this feature.
Unfortunately, the author of the PSRUTI program passed away last year and this is probably the latest version of this great and free program.

If you don't understand something about PSRUTI, feel free to ask because I am the author of these videos.

Dear Ckobu,

thanks a lot for your reply. I am sorry to hear that the developer is passed away.
Actually I am a hardware and software developer located in Regensburg Germany. Maybe I can continue his work if I have the source codes. I can not promise anything now until I see and understand the amount of work. Couse I have a full time job and I am taking piano classes every 2-3 weeks.
By the way here is my youtube channels where you can see some videos in which I fully repair damaged keyboards and I play some songs live.

Hi Manou,

you have a nice video channel.
I don't know if Heiko Plate (author of PSRUTI) gave him code of the program. Look for this information on German forums, maybe someone knows more.
