Drumkit from yamaha genos to pa5x

Post by ikspeel »

who can help me
in my repertoire on my yamaha genos i also have a few midi files
I also want to put this on the pa5x but when I do this the drum kit sounds very strange
I think the drum mapping on yamaha is different from korg
does anyone have a userdrumkit that has the same mapping
thanks

Hi, the drum mapping would be different. Maybe try the XG drum kits on the Korg, might give you something useable. What type of midi files are they ie were they specifically created for the Genos?

If you have both machines, why not sample a Genos kit into the Pa5X. Seems to me that would produce a FAR better results than building a drum kit on the Pa5X that was compatible.

Just my 2 cents. That's what I'd do.

Sharp.

I approx. 2 years ago I sampled Revo drums from Genos. True, not for such a reason, simply because I like it!
I also made a 40-minute video about this!

REVO drum cleaner is a free program with which you can adjust the Yamaha drum for the GM standard. Watch this video. English subtitles included.

Hi , only reason I asked about what the type of midifile is, some are recorded using just xg kits, if they weren’t specifically recorded for Genos.

Mixmaster
Open my genos / Tyros Midi in mixmaster
Then drumkit view change revo to legacy standard
And my Midi is ok on my Pa5x with the xg drumkit
:D :D

Good news that you managed to find an easy solution.
I’ve never checked out mixmaster, sounds like it could be a very useful program.
