Combining banks?

Post by Fauxkronos »

How do you combine banks?

I have the kapro symphonic dreams library and by default has like 25 sounds per module. If I try to send them to the same bank, it overrides instead of appending it. 🤔

Help appreciated! Thanks

I think there are two ways.

a.
[use PCGTools]
Open both PCG file, copy and paste program to another, save as new PCG

b.
[load each program]
when you load PCG file in disk mode, you can open and drilldown to each program.
then press Load and set destination to last empty program.
(need to repeat each neccessary program)
save as new PCG

Thank you for your reply. Is there any benefit to using pcgtools vs the kronos librarian software? I have yet to use either.

I forgot official librarian because I don't use it
I feel that is too slow to operate (because of SysEx)
to merge, you temporary need to fill 2 bank.

Just to add that, when you're loading programs, you don't need to load each program separately. You can click on multiple programs and load them all at once. So, if you only want to keep 25 out of a larger number of EXs programs, you can do it very quickly.
For that to work, you'll need the same number of consecutive blank slots to load them into because, after you've selected your destination slot for the load, all of the programs you've selected will be loaded to the destinations consecutively.
For that reason, I've tidied up my PCG so that I only keep the ones I want and so I have plenty of empty PCG space to play with.
